roof problems.....

Recommended Posts

so I got tired of not having shit for subs in my truck (never really have money to buy what i want but the 1 10"CVR wasent cutting it) so I put 4- Infinity Ref 10's in last night I was actually really surprised how well it sounds, but now my roof vibrates like a big peice of flopy sheet metal lol... I guess its time to pull the headliner down....

Yup. Most just add dynomat, but more serious SQ guys will take 1/4" x 2" aluminum strap and fiberglass it to the underside of the roof to add rigidity, then dynamat over that. Don't forget to also reinforce the back wall of the cab, it's also a chief offender.

Mr. P. :)

Another suggestion - a lot of guys will adhere the inner roof bracing to the roof skin with expanding foam; that keeps the internal roof bracing from chattering against the roof panel.

the brace on the roof needs to be reglued and then put some dynomat over it thats what we did on my buddies truck and we need to do on my truck

...how big of a deal is it to remove the headliner if im just going to put it right back up?
