Rausche Posted July 19, 2007 Report Share Posted July 19, 2007 you need to change the monitor resolution (on the computer). Start off with something big (like 800x600), and work up until it looks good... I have a 36" in my room that I hook up to watch movies on and such and it handles 1024x768 at best, but your TV might do okay with a higher resolution... NoLegs Posted July 19, 2007 Report Share Posted July 19, 2007 What method did you use to hook it up? If digital is an option (DVI, HDMI) you need to use that. If not, go for component. jbaker Posted July 20, 2007 Report Share Posted July 20, 2007 Glad to see a topic that I might be able to assist with! Do you have an ATI or Nvidia graphics card? If so, update to the most recent drivers. There are standard TV resolutions that have been available in the drivers of these cards for awhile now. Did I miss you indicate whether this was a SD or HD display? And what type of display is it? Is it widescreen? Please reply to some of these if you'd like more help narrowing down what res you need to select. As a last resort there's always an app called Powerstrip that enables you to create custom resolutions and timings, but that can be quite intimidating. Z4pp Posted July 21, 2007 Report Share Posted July 21, 2007 Yeah just like one of the members above said, your picture is not fitting because your resolution is too big. [usually] standard now is like 1280x1024 on most computer monitors. Most regular televisions can only do up to 1024x768.
