Black2003SS
Ok. I installed the blower and I am running a 3.25" pulley. So far so good. I'm seeing around 6-7psi at WOT, the truck screams, I havent tried WOT launch yet as I am just afraid of breaking the trans etc. It's so hard to not hot rod this thing, but I'm being good. My idle vaccuum is at 17in/hg, I think thats good. I only have seen 1*of KR at a 2-3 shift and it went away after the shift...probably false, I hope. So whats next? I dont think I want to mess with methanol, and I know I will do a cam at some point, just not before the end of summer. Things I think I need: 1. 2.9" pulley (what do I need to run this on ym 2003ss?) 2. I've heard alot about the crank pinning kit...should I get one? Are they really a $100 for two dowels and a guide? 3. Trans work done is a must, I have the parts (servos, HD2 kit etc.) 4. Zippy is working with me on the tune so I am sure there is some left on the table there... What else can I do? I have exhaust, headers, converter, etc. I feel...well...like the end of the mod road for right now! Wow...should I consider heads? Can I put a MP122 on a stock 6.0L? pnblwzd
A 2.9 pulley plus tuning will make a big difference, and will get the boost in the 8-9 range. After that, a GT2-3 cam, 90mm TB, tuning, and efans will make it even better. Beefing up the trans is a good idea, at least a shift kit and billet/Vette servos. I have not messed with the crank pinning kit, and did not see any evidence of it slipping when I had the balancer off to swap my cam so I'm not concerned about it. The next step after all that's listed above is meth inj, or a 122, and/or maybe some head work.

Black2003SS
I already have efans. I'm ordering the 2.9" this friday. Will the pulley boys one off of ebay for $89 do? Who should order it through and are there any quality differences in a $120 pulley vs a $90? I will do the GT2-3 swap this winter. I did think about the 90mm throttl body, but doesnt this require a Jtube upgrade or something? What is all involved with that?
pnblwzd
There's an interesting article in this month's Hot Rod Magazine about a Dotweiler 11 sec 6.0 GTO that made over 500hp at the tires. The mods consisted of, from what I recall: 122 Radix Cam very similar to the GT2-3 Custom Heads/rockers Dynatech Long Tubes/cats/pipes plus a cat back exh Meth Injection Tuning Interesting read... I dont think the 122 will fit on the lowerintake of the 112. I bet there is a bigger/meaner cam, actually I know zippy has a bigger one he recommends. Get your trans done. did you put the converter in yet?? stop playing and get those mods done, it will cut some time off for sure.
Black2003SS
Converter is in and has been for awhile. Getting the trans servos and HD2 kit done next week. I also just ordered a 2.9" pulley...should be interesting. I also have to get the whistle noise fixed as well.
misterp
If it were my truck (in order) 1. trans & converter 2. crank pinning, 2.9" pulley, methanol kit 3. long tubes 4. Thunder Racing blower cam (or similar, GT2-3 is too tame for me) 5. 90mm TB & J-tube mod A PCM re-tune will be required after each of these steps for one reason or another; and along the way expect an injector/fuel system upgrade. Black2003SS
1. Is pretty much done. yank converter is in and servos will be in within a week. wont buy a rossler until the stock unit gives out. 2. Will skip meth until next year...hopefully get by without it...may switch back to 3.25" until I can get meth 4. Already have pace setter LT's. Pin that crank. 2. 2.8 pulley (log - tuning, log - tuning, log - tuning) 3. Exhaust - go 3" dual all the way out with free flowing mufflers (Magnaflow etc.). (log - tuning....) This will get you close to 100% IDC on an 03 which means you will need to consider an injector upgrade or meth. I would suggest injectors as the meth gains were not that impressive for me. This obviously requires tuning. 4. Now that the fuel is taken care of, most likely you have blown your tranny at this point so a full built unit is suggested. 5. The fun part IMO,...cam selection. Do your research before jumping on a cam. Look to do springs, retainers, keepers etc. as well. TUNING! I wouldn't worry about heads, your stockers are good. 6. Misc bolt-ons. 90MM TB upgrade with ported J-tube, 100MM idlers, beefy tensioner, intercooler upgrade, Gatorback, The biggest isolated filter you can find - fresh air feed only, watter wetter in the intercooler... Black2003SS
those first 3 steps Krambo should get me well into the 12's wouldnt you say? Will there really be that much of a difference between 3" duals and my corsa straight through sport? The truck already sounds like a freaking nascar motor with whiny gears...lol
Krambo
Look at Holty's times with his mods. He rips 12.5's I picked up .3 from the 3" duals and a PI Vig converter (over the yank at the same stall). Don't know what one helped me the most. I do know that my Yank never performed correctly right from the start though. It only lasted a couple thousand miles.
