I was doin some research on the Joe Gibbs conversion for the silverado...all i know is that they supercharge the engine and put in suede...With the body colored bumpers, they look alot like our trucks...Any one have anymore information on these? Better yet...Anyone raced one of these?

Sprayed99 owns one; nice truck. Radix'd 5.3L, it'll throw down an ass-beating. It's also built on the lighter 2WD coil-spring frame. The Joe Gibbs Silverado effort met with bad sales and they killed the program, they are a very rare truck, only 1400-1500 were produced.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those carbon fiber engine covers for that blower, that is tight...makes it look all factory...

We discussed the JG engine cover, sprayed99 told me that when JG ceased operations it was an ugly affair, they just sent all the workers home and still have not refunded customer deposits on unfinished work (this was back in last November, 9 mos ago); the only way you'll get one of those covers is off a totalled JG truck. :shakehead:

Two years ago I found a Joe Gibbs truck back east with less than a hundred miles on it and they wanted something like $33,000 for it. I live in California and was thinking about shipping it out here, but that would have added around $2,000 more. I was almost ready to fly there and buy it until I found my truck locally for $8,000 less. I'm happy with my Lightning, but If I had lived closer to that Joe Gibbs truck I would be driving that instead.

Stock it comes with a 3.6 pulley, making about 4.5 lbs of boost, giving it right around 400 hp. I've never gotten the chance to run an SS. My problem is getting the power to the ground, especially when I swap the pulley in another 1000 miles. Along with the blower, suede seats and bumpers, it comes lowered, with billstein shocks, bear 14 inch drilled and slotted rotors, corsa exhaust, and a couple other things. I love the truck, but JGP doesn't even answer the phone anymore, so getting any warranty work done has been a real PITA. Still wouldn't trade it for anything, I love the looks.

I was looking at a regular cab with the stick shift. Boy I wanted that bad! It's too bad if Joe Gibbs isn't standing behind his trucks.

That is a beast of a truck. I just can't figure out why JGP has completely folded up shop?? Hopefully Chevy will stand behind there product in place of Gibbs.

Not ALL JG's trucks/Tahoes had the BLOWER on them, it was simply an option (like leather or cloth seat). Some trucks were 5.3L's most were the 4.8L's. Some were reg cabs some were ext'd cabs. ALL these JG's vehicles were monotone painted too. They ALL had the JG's appearance package added to them (wheels, Bumpers, extra painted parts, cluster, lowered stance, etc), and most at least had the mild performance package added (Corsa catback exhaust, cold air intake, retuned PCM). That is what I know, I'M sure there is someone else who could fill in anything I missed.... ;) Here is my fav. pic:
