2006SilverSS
Seeing how the squealing with the brakes is getting worse and worse I've been thinking about possibly getting different pads to help eliminate this problem. I've read that the Hawk pads are pretty good and may see how much those are. Now onto my question... having only put 6-7K on on the rotors would I need to have them turned if I swapped out the pads? or is it ok to put on new pads without turning them? Every time I have done brakes in the past it's been "needed" so turning the rotor or drum wasn't really a question. Thanks for your responses in advance. On a side note, for those who have had to replace the pads on the Baer Alumasport system it's the same pads as the Chrysler 300C right? I'm going to try to confirm with Baer, but they don't seem to respond to emails very well .

Fireman31
Hawk does not make a pad for 05+ RWD SSS's, I went through this with TBYRNE and Power Performance Group. TBYRNE was very helpful in this matter. I wound up using Raybestos Professional Grade Severe Duty Pads with my Power Slot Rotors. The pads tend to make some noise when they get hot in traffic, otherwise they are pretty quiet. No you don't have to cut the stock rotors, but it is recommended for for proper pad break in and longer pad life, its better to start with a clean surface than a rough surface. I remember you posting about that back when you did it, but since I changed out the rotors and calipers in the front they are no longer the factory setup. I don't think Baer changed up the system any, but I could be wrong.

I didn't realize you had the Alumasports.....I don't think you can cut those, I know that you cannot cut Power Slots either...........
