Plot thickens on my stolen cel phone

OK I got a call from a friend of mine who lives in South Texas, they ask me if I have been trying to contact them this week; I answer no, I have not tried to call and they say "well it had to be you, because it was a 254- area code and you're the only person I know that lives in area code 254-..." My friend called back that phone number back asking to talk with me and was told "no, there's no Steve at this number". I apologized and shared with my friend that my cel phone had been stolen last week and it was in all liklihood that the burglar was the caller. I have the originating number, and the area code and prefix give lots of Google hits in Temple, TX.

But here's the best part: I Googled the actual phone number and got a hit!!! There is a classified ad in the Wichita Falls TX newspaper dated 2 days ago with the guy's name and phone number seeking help wanted "moving furniture".

So law enforcement guys, what should I do with these fresh facts and is there any chance of getting my stolen Bel Vector radar detector back because damn I feel soooo naked without it! :jester: Seriously can this be useful to a detective to prosecute this scum?

First off I believe its called a 'cell' phone.. not cel.. lol.. :jester:

Second thing is you could:

A. Call the police and let them know of the number. They wont do shit, because it requires them to do more than the simple paperwork. They will fill it in a report, and hopefully someone will look at it and investigate it. By that time, the 'burglar' will probably be moved because of the 'moving furniture' ad gives the fact away that he was probably moving this weekend. Thats too much work to locate the new address of the guy because cops like to bust people on hard evidence.. something 8 yr old kids can process... they dont care about something like this, this isnt CSI Miami.

B. Locate his address and kick the living shit out of the guy, and handle business the good old fashioned way. Have some buddies with you, and start throwing bricks through different windows of his house at about 3am, bust in there like the swat team, and break every goddamn piece of bone in his soon to be corpse.

C. Do nothing and let him practice the saying 'Can you hear me now' on YOUR f'in dime while he takes pictures of him and his manboobs in a mirror using your camera phone for posting on Myspace.

I choose choice B.

Hey Steve ...

Call your carrier's Security Department. Give them the Case number for the B+E into your truck. Let them know that the A$$ Clowns are making calls with your cell phone. Due to Phase 3 of some phone act .... They are able to locate your phone off of the signal to which tower is closet ... Hence, the new wireless 911 system you've been paying taxes on for the life of your phone.... Because your phone will emit a locating signal on EVERY CALL, not just 911 (Yup ... read your fine print ... sold it as a "Safety" issue)

So ... let the Verzion/Sprint/AT&T know that it's being used ... they can co-ordinate with local LE and hopefully get a good bust out of it .... Especially if he is using it place adds ... But definetly let the case officer know that calls are being made with/from it ....

And if you get your Radar Detector back .... Donate it !!!!!! :P:D:P:D:P

Hope that helps ....
