leaper
I have a 2003 SS and my Dad just bought a 2005 SS. I was going to try to help him set up the memory and stuff but his DIC appears to be different from mine. When I put my key in the ignition it recognizes which driver it is and I can change the setting for that driver. I tried both of his keys and the truck does not appear to be doing that and some of the settings I have are not showing up. I also noticed that my DIC displays the gallons used and average MPG for the Personal Trip meter, but his does not. I also could not turn off the business trip like I can in my truck. His truck did not come with an owner's manual so I could not look at that to see if there were instructions on how to work all of that stuff. Are the DICs that different between the year trucks? Is there something wrong with the BCM in his truck? Or am I just stupid and missing something that I can't figure it out? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. leaper
I went to mygmlink.com and looked at the 2005 owners manual and the 'Getting To Know Your 2005 Silverado' supplement and it looks like things are just different. Oh well, at least there doesn't appear to be anything wrong.
