misterp
wheres your beater mr.p? Sorry, just got the Oldsmo-bubble back today. It has it's good points: can't argue with 29mpg, and runs well and the alignment is really good; it's also a freeway flying som-bitch, no patrolman even looks at it so if you like flying low this is your car!!! The A/C is non-functional (still, after working on it a few times ) and the car smells of burnt tranny fluid. I changed the oil, it was *chalk* colored. All four tires only had 8-10 lbs of air each. The car had been so long without a wash that the dirt had actually embedded itself into the paint, I went ahead and spent 1-hr with the claybar and revealed the most horrendous collection of door-dings I've ever seen - this car has them on EVERY panel, even the front fenders and trunk fenders (how the hell do you get door dings on the front fenders?!) The pass-right rim is all chewed-up twice (curbed) and the plastic airdam underneath is only held on at the corners because the car has been run into so many parking curbs that it's ripped loose. The paint is totally thrashed, think putting luggage on the top/hood/trunklid and dragging onto the ground so you leave huge scars. The driver's power window is slowly dying, and the instrument cluster is broken and wigs-out, so the fuel level needle jumps randomly from full to empty and the speedo does the same, you gotta fill-up every 300-miles or risk running out of gas! Some pictures: Door dings on pass-side, the driver's side is worse! Hmm a little trouble parking at the grocery store a few times: The fake wingvents - really pisses you off because the A/C is also dead: Trim separating from car: Right-hand taillight is broken and only staying in place with one nut; sometimes it works, sometimes it don't: I can't tell what stain this is in the carpet, it's all over the seat too and smells - milkshake? and the dye is comming off the "leather" steering wheel Busted console lid flops open if you raise the arm, and inside REEKS of a spittoon - no I sh1t you not, it smells so bad and so strong you can smell it outside the car, DON'T open the console because it triggers that gag reflex: Mr. P. Z4pp
well here's my daily driver. unfortunately i just washed it for the first time in a couple years here recently so it looks much better than it did. i paid $0.00 for it....actually helped a friend with horrendous credit get a house to rent and this was my reward. i constantly get offers for it but im not interested. gets about 30- 35 mpg here's some of the highlights: 88 accord dx 211k on the clock and still running like a clock hasn't had a timing belt since 110k....cant wait for it to break. power nothing carpet is falling apart one speaker works some of the time needs new cam seals (leaks a little oil) the rear shoes are cracked - someone changed shoes prior to me but didnt turn the drums the front caliper sticks when parked for more than a week or so grinding the piss out of that rotor. the windshield leaks and water drips onto the passenger seat the molding on the drivers side door is ripped the choke doesnt work well....the engine idles at about 3000rpms for close to 5 mins before settling down to a normal level. the worst has mostly been cleaned up but is still evident. i had parked it outside last summer during a real hot day and had left a soda on the seat and it imploded all over the interior of the car. needless to say i never got around to cleaning it until recently. check the door panel and the seats. Got my vote lol, carburated honda for the win!
