busterz
Keyboards for 25 yrs and guitar for about 20 yrs. Played in various bands thru high school and for some years after-mostly heavy metal and 60's stuff. Currently playing a mid 70's Hagstrom Swede thru a Fender tube amps(early to mid 70's). Yeah I bought them new. Sold the keyboards some years back.
DZK
Guitar: 4 years Bass: 5 years Drums: 2 years Vocals/Backing Vocals: 3 years on and off I've been through six bands in that time, mainly as lead guitarist/backing vocalist. I did some guest bass work for a friends band, all of that actually got recorded, but he had some problems with some of my views on life/religion, and we just decided it'd be best not to speak to eachother. I never got around to seriously playing drums for anyone, I did some of the drumming on my current bands demo, due to the drummer being sick. I do also write all the music (Guitar, Bass, Drums etc.) for my band, and did so for two of the other bands I was in. I never really cared to learn entire songs by other people/band's, although I did take the time to learn my favorite pieces/riffs/solos/ of a few songs. The only stuff I've transcribed is my own, and that was so the other band members could learn the song. The only lesson I ever took was to learn how to fine tune my instruments, learned everything else (techniques, terms etc.) I know now by playing by ear and trying. Just for the hell of it, I perfected playing the intro and first few riffs to Slayer's "Raining Blood" behind my head!
KJT13
I perfected playing the intro and first few riffs to Slayer's "Raining Blood" behind my head! Nice. We used to cover Seasons in the Abyss
DZK
^ Awesome, Seasons in the Abyss is also one of my favorites, did you ever try covering Angel of Death or At Dawn They Sleep? I could never pull off Angel of Death due to me not being able to synch the singing and playing, At Dawn They Sleep was fairly easy though. On another note, I wish I could play the Saxophone! KJT13
did you ever try covering Angel of Death or At Dawn They Sleep? no. the only Slayer we did was Seasons. fortunately, all I had to worry about was vocals.

Does making techno/trance/hard house count. I have 4 different programs I use, Reason 3.0, Magix music maker11 deluxe, Sony XMC, and Ableton Live. Oh and i play the kazoo I'd say so, music is music no matter what you're playing... except for the kazoo and triangle!
SS_bnoon_SS
who wants to join the SilveradoSS band? OK, I'm in!!! Someone lay down a bass or drum backing track, then someone add a guitar lick, then we'll come up with lyrics... It'll be kinda like those forum posts that each person gets to add three lines to a story, then the next person takes over and so on...
