what makes the coolent temp rise? does it rise more when you have the ac on? i've been noticing when my ac is on, the temp will go up to 200-210, is this normal? but when the ac is off, it runs at 185 when i'm babbying the throttle. so basically, i will get more timing when the ac is off and the temp is at 185, right? i'm just trying to figure the do and dont's to get more timing out of my 160* stat when i need it, thats all. any info will be appeciated.

coolant temp rises when the ac is on because the air passes over the condensor first heating up and then passes through the radiator at lets say 150 degrees compared to 85 with out the air on. this in turn causes your engine temp to rise due to inefficect cooling of the radiator................. add electric fans= no more problems

so e-fans is my answer to keep my temps around the 180-190 range even when the AC is on ?

yep neither of my temps move at all, trans or engine collant  oh and with stock e-fans they turn on when the ac compressor turns on

good, i'll have to invest in some fans soon. what would be better with my setup, the LS1 fans or the flexalite fans? and i'll also need a harness right? and i didn't know that our stock fans only worked when the ac was on. why do they do this? and sorry for all the questions, i don't know much about cooling.

well with stock E-FANS they turn on when the ac is on to cool off the ac condernser. you should get the fans GM from an 05-06', and yes you would need a harness
