Looking for a new job I guess

Well after 6 years of driving 110 miles a day(2 hours drive time), I've decided to find a new job. My current job pays pretty good for my area but the drive has wore me out. I've posted my resume on monster.com and careerbuilder.com. Is there any other sites I should post it? I'll probably take a pay cut when I do find another job but a shorter drive(30 mins or less) will pay for itself. Anybody looking for a programmer/analyst lol :jester: I started out in IT as a programmer/analyst but moved to a data mining analyst with my current job. I've already interviewed for an IT job but didn't feel qualified to take the job. I guess the good news is that people are calling me after seeing my resume and trying to setup interviews. Wish me luck guys. It's hard to walk away from a secure job after 6 years, but it needs to happen.

Wow thats a lot of driving!

Try Dice.com for tech jobs... I think Dice is better than Monster for looking for IT jobs.. Good luck!

When I saw your post, I right away was going to suggest Dice.com, but punkt71 beat me to it. One piece of advice: when I get a resume that has misspellings on it, I don't even bother. That especially goes for technical names and acronyms of things that you (supposedly) worked on. If you can't spell it, I don't believe you worked on it. Make sure you get them right. Good luck!

I pretty sure I did that. I've got a lot of email and phone responses from recruiters so that's good. Now to also find a new house. Talk about a lot of freaking stress right now

it is frustrating but you will be fine, I just went through this whole shin dig myself, moved out west, transferred my job as well to find out I was being BS'd about how much work there actually was. Ended up quitting due to there being no work for me as i did piece work so no work, no money. Took me a little to figure out some things but just got one job I have been shooting for which should bring in a lot of money ( I can make it part time or full time) and going for a second job and my real estates license as well for side work. If my plan works out will be making 4-5x what I was making before. Talk about a complete 180. best of luck though and believe me, a lot of the recruiters that call are normally full of sh!t and just sugar coat the position. Make sure you do a lot of research.

As for sites what about gov't jobs and such, I know we have AZjobs.gov or something and they always seem to have some serious pay jobs, your state prob has the same. There is also jobbing.com and your local newspaper..
