Jonmalibuss
Well I spent all week building a d-max for R&D for our drag truck to find out Gale wants to put it in our drag truck. This engine isn't built with our full race parts but he wants to see what we can do with what we have here and now which isn't much more than a stock engine. We have forged rods and an LSM cam/lifters and our modified stock pistons. I just got a text message from my boss who is doing the tuning and he said we made 1045hp and 1244ft lbs. Needless to say the engine comes off the dyno tomorrow and goes in the truck! We should soon have some #'s!!!

Krambo
Gotta love the diesels. How much boost was that on? Making big power in a diesel isn't as inexpensive as one might think as well. I can only imagine what a complete forged set-up will cost. My good friend is putting 800/1300+ to the wheels and will not tell me how much he spent to do it. I am guessing 25-30K Keep us posted on the results!!! Mods: • LBZ short block - balanced rotating assembly • SoCal Diesel Custom Race Cam • SoCal Diesel Machined/Modified Bowl/ Thermal Coated LBZ Pistons • TTS Crower billet connecting rods • CNC ported heads, hand polishing • Bronze valve guides • SoCal Diesel Ovate beehive valve springs • SoCal Diesel Titanium retainers • SoCal Diesel Hardened O.D. spring cups • SoCal Pushrods • Headstuds • ARP Main Studs with cross bolts • ATS Aurora 5000 Turbo (40psi - street, can do ~50psi) • 4" Down Pipe • BD Power Turbo Blow Off Valve • Custom 3" plumbing pre/post Intercooler • Custom 3" Intake • PPE Dual CP3 w/ LBZ pump • MITUSA Lift Pump w/ custom bracket • Custom TTS Extreme Tune • TTS Fuel Pickup Kit • New injectors w/ 40% Extrude Hone Nozzles • EFI Live • 5" MBRP Exhaust • EGT Probe welded in up-pipe • Level 10 Alison Trans - Fully Modified converter • ATS Copilot • Mag-Hytec Deep Pan • SD Tierod Sleeves • SD Centerlink Edited October 15, 2007 by Krambo (see edit history)

Wow an LB7 yes we do have product for them tested and proven but man the d-max has come a long ways since the first being an LB7 I could name many different things between them and the new LBZ/LMM. I'm not saying it's a bad version in anyway I am just shocked because we have moved forward everytime GM releases a new d-max. The biggest thing they could improve on next is lifter weight and piston/rod weight. They would then have a very solid high HP stock diesel engine.
