Fireman31
Oh, I know! I've NEVER tried putting an 06 grille on with my stock orange 05 hood and noticed that the hood hits the grille. And then I did NOT swap my 05 grille back on and put a black 06 hood on. It's not like there are any clearance issues.... Because that would look stupid and nobody would complement the look. And I would never, ever click on the underlined parts of my previous post... Or would I? MAYBE I took several measurements between 05 and 06 model trucks to see if there were any differences, and then MAYBE I DID put an 06 hood on my 05 truck... Instead of beating around the friggin bush why don't you just say what you did to your truck. The pics in your link which I DID click are too hard to tell what the clearances are with an '05 grill and an '06 hood. Furthermore the second truck from the left in the pic on the header of this forum is an '06, no bugshield, no grill, or hood swap here. That truck belongs to OOPS and I have seen it in person on several occasions. How about I go outside and get video now? I was just guessing on OOPS' truck. Since they all have body-color grills, it is difficult to tell. I do think they all look good! I've got SS envy with my truck. I'm halfway tempted to repaint the entire hood and the grille all body color and put an SS bumper on the front. RockHead
It looks like the second truck in the picture at the top of each forum page has done the 06-07 hood + 03-05 grille also. However, it could possibly just have a bug deflector on. That truck is a 06 SS not an 03 ,That is OOPS truck (Ken)

Thats great that you have SSS envy, so do many others, but instead of coming across like a smart*ss and hinting around to what you did, just come out and say it, "I put an '06 hood on a Silverado with an '05 grill and it didn't look too bad, here's a link to the pics." Thats all.
AdioSS
sorry A $40k SSS wasn't in the cards for me when I was looking for a truck. I found a truck nearby that had everything I needed and most of what I wanted for a good price. Sure, I'm missing 50hp, AWD, 20s, leather, and a bodykit, but I get better gas mileage and can still tow my 96 Impala SS.
