For her birthday I got her an antique camera from the 20's wasnt expensive at all but it was unique. This time around a jade bracelet from my last trip. Most of the time I just round up all of her likes and move on from there, name some of the things she likes. I dated a girl that only wore prada, louie V etc. But she was in love with Marilyn Monroe, and her look so I got her couple of things of her just to set myself out of the pack.
