Fireman31
yes a smoother running vehicle.....a dirty MAF can actually throw an SES light and even effect the performance of your transmission

SS Silv
I just cleaned mine yesterday because of my tranny flaring. It doesn't do it anymore, and my shifting is much more smooth.

SSPOSSE
also if you use a oil based filter intake system and you have applied to much oil, the excess of course is stucked in and this can foul up the MAF also.. i believe that is the problem with mine right now.. the filter was oiled at the factory and i believe that its causing problems now.. running alittle rough and shifting harder than normal. Fireman31
Rule of thumb when you are using an oiled air filter-whether its is new or used, after installing or cleaning it, drive the vehicle around for a bit, maybe a day or so.....then clean the MAF sensor with some contact cleaner.
