SSThunder
What brand do you guys carry in your bag if you have a hybrid club? I'm going to go test a few out today. I think I'll end up getting a 1 hybrid. I currently use a 3 hybrid and have hit both a 1 and 2 and I like the 1 the best. I'm pretty sure I can use the 1 hybrid only. What brand hybrid do you guys use?
CoolBlueSS
A hybrid club?! Is that like a gas/electric powered golf club?
faceliftedss
i've hit a lot, it depends on how good of golfer you are i personally hit nike hybrids they make them to replace a 6 iron all the way up to like a two iron which is close to the same loft as a three wood. ive also hit taylor maid and calaway's new lines but they were not for me i liked adam's new boxer hybrids though. both of my roommates have their professional golfers cards and they play the calaways. but i would defiantly get a hybrid they are great for hitability unless your playing in a lot of wind because they go higher. ShortBus
nike CPR clubs are the best. Adams aren't bad.
Hrtbeat1
Nike Sumo FTW! Personally I don't like the hybrids as much as a real iron. They have their place though, like coming out of the rough. An iron will try and torque around and you may end up pulling your shot, whereas with the hybrids larger head it resists torquing more. BTW did you happen to see Woody Austin flub that shot with his hybrid at the Zurich in 'Nawlins ... just goes to show even the pros mess up now and again. I agree about the hybrids and the wind. I've been playing on the islands (Hawaii, Saipan, Guam) a good bit lately and there always seems to be a lot of wind. Hard to keep your shot down with those hybrids. Man I really need to invest in a new set of clubs. I've been playing for about 30 yrs, and my current set is a custom set built 15 or so years ago. My swing has changed a lot since I built that set. I was using stiff graphite shafts but I see now I need to go to a regular flex. The last two times I played I used a set of rentals (Nike Sumos) and man I love them. My drives with my set average around 270 - 290, with the Nike Sumo 460 10.5 degree (the round one not the square head) I was averaging 340. No chit. I don't think I've hit a drive 300 in 10 years. My playing partner was like WOW that is impressive, it's going out of sight. One hole, a 507 par 5, my drive was inside 150 .... still made par, dayum 3 putts. SS Silv
I personally would just get a nice set of oversized irons.

Joel Blair
I have a Sonartec 19 degree (about a 2 iron). I like it a lot more than the Titleist hybrid I used to have, which was the first model BTW, I haven't hit Titleist's new hybrid. I like having the hybrid because if for nothing else it gives you more confidence because you know you are supposed to hit it well, and it is a nice fill for the gap between your woods and irons, IMO.
