Front Diff Making A Lot Of Noise

What is the most likely culprit? My front diff is making a lot of whining/groaning at all speeds and it is very evident with small speed changes. I started noticing it getting pretty bad last week and it has progressively gotten worse every day. I was driving home today and I could start hearing it over my stereo and it seems to be vibrating more. Last time I had the fluid changed (about 3000 miles ago) the plug was covered with metal shavings, and big ones at that. Not a good sign- time to take it in.

I had something like that on my 04. it was a thrust washer from what the dealer told me that wears done allowing a bearing to get loose. Seems like the AWD models have been having these problem from what they told me.

Just had mine fixed it was carrier bearings. But now since the put it back together it whines around turns

Same BS happened to me... When I got the truck it was SILENT... Then the diff went, I had it serviced, now it makes noise almost all the time.

 

Dealer says it's "normal AWD noise".

MORE THEN LIKELY IT,S THE SIDE BEARINGS, I,VE DONE ALOT OF THEM, IF DONE RIGHT THEY DON,T MAKE NOISE. THE DEALER IS FULL OF SHIT THAT,S IT,S NORMAL RAUSHE.
