o3redss Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 last night took the truck to the track and i couldnt break into the 14s lol. The best i got was a 15.0. My reaction times were .055 but the 60fts were 2.2. When i reached about 60 the front drivers tire got like a wheel hop i have no clue what it could be?? Do you race yours in tow haul or Drive or 3? Black2003SS Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 In D with tow haul off. 15.0 isnt horrible considering how little you really have one. I had a torque converter, headers, tune, exhaust, and cai, and I still only managed a 14.8-14.9 the next time out. Invest in a good tune and you will see some high 14's. I did finally manage to get down to a 14.6 with those mods. But I was being limited by no shift kit. Believe it or not, a shift kit helps alot. The time spent in bewteen gears can be cut in half with a shift kit, thats worth 2-3 tenths as well. I suggest a tune next, and maybe a converter down the road, depending on what your budget is. Fireman31 Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 That is a great time seeing how you only have exhaust and an intake...now it's time for a custom tune! You can break well into the high 14s with a quality custom tune. Nice work! BTW I race in 3 with my traction control turned off......... Quote
brobradh77 Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 I leave it in drive and go to town...definatley invest in a custom tune because i have found even when you turn it off its not completely off....when I got my custom tune was when i could tell it was relly off when i turned it off. Quote

NTMD8R_SS Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Not bad, invest alittle more money and you will see high 14's. Quote
JF-03-SS Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 You def. need a custom tune Andy to wake that thing up. What track did you go to? Quote

Yea im going to do my shift kit first then the chip i think. I went to new england drag way. But i dont kno if im going to race it again just use it as my tow vehicle for my car. Im building my car up to drag it. I hope to be ready for fun ford weekend. Thats going to cost me some $$$ for the slicks, skinnys, rearend, clutch, line lock, longtubes dumped. Quote

OUT2WIN Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I bet mid 14s can be had with a good tune. Get those 60' down to 2.0 and you are there. Quote
