I was wondering if you guys think I should repplace sparkplug wires and or sparkplugs. I know you guys say to use the NGK tr55's. Stock is iridium... Does it matter if you use copper style ones instead of iridium? (sp) Thanks alot guys! The stock acdelco plugs are 12$ a piece

The stock acdelco plugs are 12$ a piece yes it does matter. . . . .Iridium is a harder metal and is the reason the gap is pre set at .040" where as copper (a softer metal) is supposed to be gapped at .060". i would run the stock AC and the are like $5.XX each, dont know where your looking for them at that price. . . .oh and yes get new plug wires, MSD
devinsgn
Yeah replace both the plugs and wires. MSD are awesome and are cheaper then the stock replacements.
perk03z06
Definitely replace. Much cheaper in the long run to swap out wires and plugs than all of your coils because the coils worked too hard on worn-out wires and plugs. I did mine @ 55. ipyro24
The dealer was 12.00 a plug, and then monument car parts was 8$ a plug. Could I just use iridium NGK plugs? Where did you guys buy the wires from?
ces63ss
try summit racing. plugs are $2.99 and msd wires are $
Fireman31
I am running TR55s and Taylor '409' wires here. I gapped the plugs at .040, not .060 and the truck runs awesome. NGK makes an iridium tipped TR55 called the TR55ix I believe..........
Bad Bowtie
I would replace them with AC Delco Platiums/Iridiums, a new AC Delco fuel filter, and get Taylor 8.2MM wires. www.summitracing.com With the price of gasoline and all...
