Inside news from the Metclub (I know, lame fan club member) is that the new album will be out in early fall produced by Rick Rubin. Band members quoted as saying no songs are less than 6 minutes in length. There will be guitar solos this time around (unlike St. Anger), and James is quoted as saying that they are considering this their fifth album, where Justice left off. That pretty much negates all of the Bob Rock era (also known as the sellout era). No samples of music yet, and what's on youtube is BS. For you guitar players, there is also a Hetfield signature Explorer in the works (ESP I would assume). No word on a release date for it.

If interested in the new album you can check out http://www.missionmetallica.com/. It's a pay site, but it's a lot of access to the band, their vault of downloads and download the new album the day it comes out.

Yeah St. Anger was suppose to be a new direction, but with Bob Rock's influence. The black album was good, but I'm ready for something more along the lines of the early stuff. Metallica's headlining the Ozzfest show in Dallas, I think it's the only one this year.

I can't wait for this new album to come out. I hope that they go back to their roots with this one. St. Anger was borderline boring to me!

Metallica = a bunch of whiney ass bitches IMO - long live napster!

Yeah honestly.. when they were crying its when St. Anger came out... umm noo.. your not making sales because the CD sucked.. but apparently they thought other wise.
