I took it to a shop that does our work vans and he says it's toast and it would be a minimum of $1900 to repair it and could be more. Doesn't a new diff cost around $2,000? He told me if the ring and pinion was shot, it would be anoth $275. So less than $900. Turns out it was fine and only needed bearings. He charged me $550. I have seen some pay as much as $900-1,000, but no one near $1,900. That skind of high. I think you are a victim of price gouging like I was on my transfer case this week. So, I'm picking it up tomorrow and taking it to this shop that are known to be the differential specialists in the Northwest. They stock all the parts and have a couple shops nationwide. http://www.ringpinion.com/Default.aspx They quoted $700 for new bearings, seals, and fluid. Rays B4U Posted June 20, 2008 Report Share Posted June 20, 2008 I just had my front Diff rebuilt in April 08 across the Mtns in Wenatchee and the cost was $1894.33.
