Obx Headers

I put my OBX headers on this weekend and everything looked good. when i dropped the truck down and took it for a drive i noticed that the driverside header was rubbing on the front driveshaft right at the u-joint under normal driving. So the next day i heated the header up and pushed it in to make clearance. Now under normal driving it only rubs whan i make a fast left turn. Any ideas on why this is happening i did a search and no one else with obx headers seems to have this problem. what should i do? ideas?

I would loosen the headers at all connection points including the head and see if you can move them around enough to keep clearance. Maybe put a towel around the shaft as you tighten the header/head bolts up. I had no issues at all with driveshaft clearance, not even close.

do think having the crossover pipe pushed in all the way might be causing it? i also still have to get my hangars welded up so maybe that will move it around alittle?

the contact is @ the collector so I dont think it has anything to do with the crozzover pipe.

mine look real close but I have not heard any rubbing

the contact is just forward of the collector on the more forward pipe of the two. the drive shaft itself is not hitting it is the knuckle (u-joint?) of the front diff. what i was think is that i tightened the exhaust back to front so if i loosen the crossover pipe it might pull the header away from the driveshaft.

I had the exact same problem! Turn hard and it would rub! Hammer got it close. I used washers in the front diff mounts to push toward the passenger side. I had diff out to fix a seal leak anyway. It fixed it. Never rubbed again. Dont ya just hate the plug wire on cyl 7 & 8 with those headers!!!
