Body Question?

hey guys im in the process of getting rid of my roll pan and buying a ss bumper for my cloner! i have a guy whos got a ss bumper (rear) it has damage tho....the plastic is cracked! any ideas or thoughts on if its fixable?? anyone ran into this prob.....

 

 

or if anyone els hasnt seen my other thread im looking for one soo let me know!!! im more apt to black but just let me know what youve got!

The urethane rear bumper is pretty workable with the right fillers, I think it's very fixable but will take labor to get it right; however you can get a completely unmolested one for $300-400, and I think that it would cost more than that to have a body shop repair and then repaint it so you might be money ahead in the long run to find a used one in really good shape. That's my $0.02.

damn i was hoping it wouldnt be like that...i tryed to get to the body shop today but they were slammed and couldnt look at my pics...but tomro i think ima see what he think too...i have a feelin he mite say what you sed...anyways thanks for the help tho!

 

ive also got something going with a guy in maine...right near me!! he has one for sale im gonna call him tomro...if we can work sumin out i would def take his over this broken one hands down!!! plus no shipping ill gladly take a small ride to pick it up!!!! hopefully that wrkks out ide rather it over the haedache of a broken one!

:withstupid: I agree with Steve, fixing the damage to that bumper is labor intensive, your best bet is to search for a good used one to save a few $$$.

well guys i took your advise you were right when i thot more about it and got a quote for ....you ready?? $475.00 to fix!!! i was liek yea ill try and find another one....well today i sealed the deal will (tdm ss) in maine ...im going tomro up to nh we r going to meet half way! no shipping....anyways thanks alot for helping me make the right decision ill be sure to post some pics when its all done!

yea it suks...i used to work at a car dealership so i got alllll my paintwork done for nuthin...i detail cars on the side becuase thats what i started doing when i was 15 at a cadillac dealership... (i strted my own side thing last year!). soooooo i detailed the bodyguys car up a lil bit and he did whatever i needed. it was an awsome deal! now i quit there and its just awkward for me to ask them to help me out still you know. but anyways its all goood i just talked to todd and tomro nite im pickign it up!

Cool deal man, I thought it would cost a little less but then again body work charges seem to be a bit higher in the northeast.

This is true, a majority of this nations car accidents happen here in the Northeast.....hell we average around 100 per day in my county alone(most minor). My FD responds to 2-3 per week. Body shops are a dime a dozen around here, they are everywhere you look, not to mention insurance rates here aren't great either. :driving:
