rattlindodge Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 So i took my truck in to the shop for a p0430 code, they said it was the mass airflow sencer. So i put a junk yard one in and about day later the same code came back. Is there any way to test the mass airflow sencer? Im gonna see if the junk yard will swap it out with other. I got a k&n filter, they said that was the cause, but it wasnt over oiled? Quote
badass03ss Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 before you do anything else get some maf cleaner and spray it down good, the junkyard one might just be dirty and the original one might just have oil all in it. later Quote
Fireman31 Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Even a tiny amount of oil can gum up the MAF sensor, some electrical contact cleaner will work too. Quote
rattlindodge Posted August 25, 2008 Author Report Posted August 25, 2008 THanks for the info guys! Quote
rattlindodge Posted August 25, 2008 Author Report Posted August 25, 2008 Does it do any damage to the truck if i drive it around with a gummed up maf sensor? Quote

rattlindodge Posted August 26, 2008 Author Report Posted August 26, 2008 Well i cleaned the junkyard MAF and took it for a test run and the code come back within a few miles, so im gonna clean my original and see what happens. The truck is going to the dealer for a wack cluster, so maybe ill ask for them to check into the cats at the same time. THis dealer has been a good dealership for warranty work on our junk 2000 6.5 diesel. Quote
