Hey Guys ...

Well the Mistress has finally started to throw out the Check Engine light after 4 years ... We pulled the codes on my buddy's OBD II scanner. So, this is what I got ....

Last week I got - P0101 MAF Range .... (I think it said out of range) Code cleared when I downloaded second one.

Yesterday I got - P0496 - Evap Emissions High Purge Flow Fault

So am I to believe my MAF sensor needs to be cleaned ... and the second one, I think is the Gas Cap not tight enough? Or would first code, in part, be the problem with the second code?

:withstupid: clean your MAF and TB, remove and re-tighten your gas cap.......worse case scenario is that you will have to replace the cap

i agree with cleaning the maf and throttle body for the 101, but the 496 indicates purge vacum at the tank, when purge isn't commanded. gas cap will set a p0440, or p0442. depending on what type of scanner your buddy has, you can command the purge solenoid on/off. disconnect the plastic pipe and when the purge is commanded off you should have no vacum at where the hose plugs onto the solenoid. purge solenoid is located under the center engine trim cover, just behind the throttle body.
