I bought a full set of Bilsteins off of ebay for 200 bucks, said to be new in box. One of the front shocks is missing the installation kit which includes the bushings and washers. Should I just use the factory bushings/washers, or should I try to find another installation kit. I tried to contact the seller, who had 100% feedback when I purchased, but they were booted from ebay 2 days after I purchased them.

The old bushings are probably too soft or dried out from age. Maybe try to contact Bilstein, or a Bilstein dealer, to see if you can order just what you need.

I was looking last night at my bushings on my truck, they are huge (in diameter) compared to the one set I got. Does this sound right?

Not sure. :dunno: I had a local shop install my Bilsteins, at the same time they did my Baer brakes. Maybe somebody else can chime in...

I have a set on the way, which I'll install (myself) on Saturday. I'll let you know what I see.

I would "guess" that the original bushings are soft rubber, and the new ones are hard poly, and I wouldn't be surprised at a diameter difference.

The hard poly bushings (are these for "stud mount shocks, I haven't even looked yet....) should be pretty readily available. Both energy suspension and PST sell them, and you might even find some on the shelf at an autozone.

Yes they are stud mount, I figured it may be cheaper to just buy a pair of better bushings then contacting bilstein for a set of their oem. JimM I would appreciate if you would let me know what comes with them, this seller on ebay had a variety of bisteins for sell and would not suprise me if the one installation kit I had was incorrect. It has a number on the bag of B4-KT1-Z008A00. Thanks for all of your help.

I called Bilstein and the dang installation kit I have isn't even correct, so I ordered 2 kits for like 8 bucks each. Thanks for all of your help guys.

Make sure the shocks are the right part number too. I have them listed in "My Garage". Link is in my sig. Hope it works out OK.

Yeah, they are the correct shocks. I checked that as soon as they came in. They were in the original boxes and appear brand new, just missing/wrong installation kits. I put the rear ones on this morning, they are a firmer ride than factory. Thanks for your help.
