im running 8-9psi now, i want to run more boost on my 5.3, can i run 12psi?

 

just wondering what are the things i need to change or do.

 

where can i get a new pulley and will i need a new tune?

alot of questions to be answered first. what innercooler you runnin? what pulley what injectors? and what are you AIT temps?

 

it could be as easy as a pulley swap, but make sure you have the fuel, and the cool air thru that cooler. good luck. OH and get a smaller belt with that pulley!

the trick is not to get more boost to make power but rather make more power per pound of boost. ie. get a heads and cam and you will make more power efficiently witht e same amount of boost

there is NOTHING like someone asking "how much boost you makin?" whats it matter? if you have high boost levels without being efficiant, its useless. flow that motor effectively and it could run 4 psi and make more power than 12 psi. I know when i rebuilt my motor, i went down in boost, substantially. like from 9 to 4. heads, cam, headers... they all add up to more power per psi...

If its a 04' you will be getting close to running out of injector and yes you should have it tuned.

Check for the pulley size to be stamped on the pulley itself. What tune is in the truck right now?
