Need Advice To Help Fight A Ticket I Got

I remember when my buddy's did a burnout in front of me with his 64 ford falcon and I was behind him in my 70 chevelle. Flowmaster and hooker headers. well when the trooper pulled me over and asked which one of my buddies did it and when I wouldn't tell him he wrote me up for the same thing as you... I fought and won saying that my Exhaust was built back to Stock.. And the only reason that it got loud was because it is standard and needs gas to get moving. Maybe there is some way you can say that it hasn't been altered in anyway. How is the judge going to tell.. Bring in a magazine with some exhaust in it and tell him that this is what you have.. Dunno just a thought.... Cop does sound like a butt head Good luck

i couldnt pass inspection with my flowmaster but got a flier thats says they are all 50 state legal. corsa prob has some info on decibel reading of that exhaust. most companies do. maybe that would help. yeah i have heard of this. its crap. but whatever.

i won my tint ticket by saying i just bought the truck and it came on there when i bought it i had no idea it was aftermarket and i had it taken off they asked me if i had it there i said no im in my work truck they said ok your good to go. you could try that one

as much as it sucks you'll probably just have to pay the ticket because by the time you

would spend the money to switch it out to get out of the ticket you will end up spending more than the ticket cost. just wondering but why are you rolling around in 2nd gear with headers and no cats if you seen the cops from 200yds away? why didnt you shift to drive knowing it is hella loud at that point its a hell of lot louder than you think(a good loud of course) but you know they are always looking to hate on someone that has a nice looking and sounding ride

I didnt think he would be such a dickwad about it or I would have went really slow. This place is full of dirty bastards like him so I guess I should have known. I can tell you right now that Im not paying a cent to this BS county for this ticket. Im not gonna take it off or change it either, if they want to try to regulate exhausts they need to have emissions testing and/or a decibel meter to measure the loudness. They cant just give a $237 ticket cause it was too loud in his "opinion"

Judges will generally put more weight on an officers testimony than the citizen's testimony. In this case you're likely to have two officers testifying since you said 2 cops had someone pulled over so the other cop probably heard you too.

 

IMO you challenged them with your exhaust and one took your challenge....now who will be declared the winner in court?

Im just gonna say I have an $800 aftermarket exhaust and its not that loud, I have pics of it installed

 

I dont know if I would say its an aftermarket exhaust. The judge will think if you can pay for the $800 exhaust, you can afford the ticket. I would just say you bought the truck exactly the way it is and you have never had problems before in all your years of ownership passing patrolmen.
