BRAD Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Ill be changing my truck to a twin turbo setup in about a month and the filters will be infront of the engine. Im not really wanting to suck hot air from behind my radiator through the filters, so I was thinking of having so small vents cut into the front of my hood and making some duct work so they would get cooler air. I was just curious of what you guys thought of this idea. I did a quick picture on photoshop of what i was kind of going for. I just dont really know about this. Quote
Fireman31 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Oh no, don't do that! That's awful looking IMO. Is there anyway to route the turbo inlet piping to behind the brake ducts or something? Quote
BRAD Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) I havent crawled under my truck to see if Ill have enough room to miss the 2 water to air intercoolers and duct work. Thats cause I just thought of this lastnight at work and Im in NC so Im dealing with Hanna at the moment. Ive never seen so much rain in my life! Im hoping I can do something from down low cause I dont want to cut on anything body wise and Id like it to look as stock as possible. Edited September 6, 2008 by GHOST_PILOT (see edit history) Quote
KissMySilvSS Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Yeah, cutting two holes in the front wouldn't look good, imo. Why don't you try something like this with a cowl hood? Or do two "Z06 like" scoops on either side of a cowl hood (that might look good)? Quote
SSThunder Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) check out my hood. You could fab up the ram air to run to your 2 airboxes. I had a local shop just cut out the ram air part but it should be possible to fab up the hood to work for you. What do you fab guys think? EDIT: also maybe you can run some duct work from the front bumper. I currently run the volant ram air tube to my outlaw CAI. Edited September 6, 2008 by SSThunder (see edit history) Quote
BRAD Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 Thanks for the quick input guys. Ive been looking around at tubing and such and I believe I will be able to draw air in from each bumber duct. Quote
