usabodyguard Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 color sanding is pretty much the only thing you can do for the really deep stuff... contact a good body shop... or detail shop... Quote
04fullsize Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I personally wouldn't color sand these trucks because I don't think the paint is very thick, just my personal opinion. If you buffed your truck with a polisher and you have the very fine swirls in the paint I would try a combination of a less aggressive pad and product. I personally use Mark V products at my shop so if you can get your hands on some thats what I would go with, but Maguires makes some OK products that will do the trick. A porter cable with the right products will take out a lot of mild swirl marks, but any heavy scratching will require a rotary and a professional touch. Quote
04blacksss Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 i use a maguires swirl remover works pretty damn good for me.. Quote
SS Silv Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) DON'T color sand unless they are really bad. But I don't think you will need to. Give use specifics of what you used when you "buffed" your truck. What polisher? What pads? What products? The best way to remove swirls is with a DA polisher or Rotary with the right pads and polishes. A product that is applied by hand will only hide the swirls, not remove.
