I Want A Cam

i want to put a cam in my 03 but i dont want one so big it involes tuning and all that where can i find one that fits thesee trucks

a cam that doesnt require tuning is not worth swaping out, end of story. . . . .

now i could understand you not wanting a cam that would require a huge stall converter. Do it right, get a decent size can and an optimized tune to go with it. Besides, you dont want to go through all the work and money and go "man, this cam sucks" do ya?

You should have your truck tuned even with the stock cam.

How big of a stall do you want to go with?

That will base the size of the cam you should go with.

 

If you go too big of a cam on too small of a converter you'll actually go slower and it will be a pain in the ass to drive.

 

Also you'll need support mods Ex: Long tubes intake Stall etc

Don't be affraid of big cams...they're not that bad. Mine is around 224 .609 and it was my every day driver. With a good tuner(zippy) the cam won't bother you. To take real advantage of it, yes you need mods to support it but it will still work with out them. I was running high 13's with no headers, stock pipes with a magnaflow muffler and a "almost like stock" PI converter. If your worried about warrenty hold off...

Dude, go ahead and give Zippy a call. get whatever cam he recommends and let him do the tuning for ya. thats what i did, truck is awsome. sounds mean as hell, runs like a top, i get compliments all the time.

yea its worth it to just go do the danm thing big and get it over with cause you will have to do it even if ya do a small cam...

I agree but there is cams that don't require tuning but why would you spend the money on a cam swap and not on a tune???

Yes I do, but it takes a while for me to get back to you. Just call me and if I'm not with a customer or something I'll talk as long as needed. Call me after 6pm if you want to talk for a while since it's after I leave work.
