Finally Painted My Engine Covers

Recommended Posts

I had given them to a friend who paints cars that said he'd do it for free. That was about 6 months ago and he still wasnt done so I said the hell with it, I got em back from him and nothing was done at all yet. So I primed them, painted them with 3 coats of hi-temp black semi gloss and then 3 coats of hi-temp clearcoat. After a bunch of sanding and painting they are done, theres a few dimples and some little stuff I didnt care about cause you cant really see it. I wsa tired of all the sanding so I just left em how they are.

The best part is I can pop my hood and still nobody can see that I have nitrous :jester: sneaky sneaky

yeah I forgot to mention I sanded off the raised vortec 6000 logo and the lines on top I think I used 80 grit for that and then I went over all of em with like 120 to remove the texture. I used high build primer and sanded it with 1000 and steel wool to get it perfectly smooth. Thanks for the compliments, Ive been wanting to get these on for so long now

those came out great man!! I redid mine a month or two ago with a new color scheme and f'd them up. I didn't let them dry long enough. I hand sanded them but now I think I need a palm sander to fix them and clean them up.
