nort316 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 what type of underdrive pulley do yall find to be the best Quote
Bryan Roush Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 i don't have any yet myself, but i would think the one mostly used is an asp. they come with underdrive pulley and alternator pulley. with a new bolt. i have seen slp make one i don't know if anyone uses it. i myself want to get an underdrive pulley with an overdrive alternator pulley. not sure who makes it. if anyone else can chime in and let us both know. 04CHASE Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 i beleive powerbond and asp are the choices for trucks i have one on my camaro from asp and i noticed a bit of a difference, just faster reving. they are pretty easy to intstall with the right puller and pusher. you may need an alt pulley . i didnt on my camaro i instead put a higher amp alt. and i have a stereo( 500 rms watts) and it dips to 12 volts at idle at times. Jond983 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 ASP..I have the underdrive and the alt pulley and like chase said they're easy to install Quote
dubdaddy420 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) ASP..I have the underdrive and the alt pulley and like chase said they're easy to install Did you notice any power difference? Edited September 12, 2008 by GMCvMAXdude (see edit history) Quote
Jond983 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 Did you notice any power difference? I don't have a dyno sheet but the pulleys made my throttle feel more responsive and freed up some power not much but enough to where you know there was something gained. Quote
shadowsniper3006 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 one tenth gain in the quarter. Not really worth the price untill every tenth matters. I'd use the money for something that will give you good gain for the money like a tune or headers or cam Quote
gixxerrider Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 I have a set installed. I did not notice a gain do to the fact I put 3 mods on at the same time. It does rev alittle faster I have the set of pulleys but I will be changing out my ALT pulley for the stock one for a 800 rpm charging Quote
KissMySilvSS Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I might order a set. What ASP part # do I want? Thanks, Teddy Quote
mcmahan Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 ok guys dont beat me up about this but what do they do for ya exactly. i know a little about under drives Quote
gixxerrider Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 they slow down the accessories. Basicly its a smaller crank pulley less weight= less rotating mass Quote
04CHASE Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 not only less weight of the damper itself but also has to spin the accesories less using less power from the motor that freed power will go to your wheels instead. Quote
