Well the last huricane didn't cause prices to shoot up but this one has. Prices were around $3.50 before but today the lowest I saw was $3.89 and the highest for low grade i saw was like $4.29. One station had signs on the pumps saying they were out of gas so Kroger next to my house was backed up about 20 cars or so. Crazy BS if you ask me. Oil has dropped to around $100 but gas is crazy high. What crazy gas prices are you guys seeing?

I just found $3.79 for Shell V Power 93 Octane. Only station/octane I put in the SS. This was on thursday so it could have jumped, I will find out tommorow.

what sucks is the car needed gas today but Kroger was backed up forever and I had to get my baby girl from daycare. So I had to drive the dang SS. Gas SHOULD NOT be over $4 because of the hurricane when oil is the lowest it's been all year. Greed has no limit with these people

I went and filled up today at an independent station with 93 Octane it was $3.65 here in MO... (A little drive out of town) And in my area this is the one and only station that sells 93. Phillips 66, 91 Octane in town was the same price this morning.

I have no economic reasoning as to why oil is dropping and gas prices are rising and I have not read any valid reason as to why its happening either. It blows my mind away.

I put 93 octane shell VPower in mine as well and last I put gas in it was 3.74 for it. I haven't checked lately and I don't need gas so I haven't really paid attention.

Price gouging. They know people will be in panic mode because of refineries down here shutting down for the storm. Plus, the people evacuating from Houston/Galveston needing gas. It's really sad that companies try to make an extra buck on a disaster.

Price gouging.

Exactly! No VALID economic reasoning. lol.

I did see a report this morning saying that prices will rise because Houston is the "heart" of the oil circulatory system of the US and not that the wind damaged the refineries, but that flooding could have them off line for days. They are saying that it is a supply and demand issue. US demands are going to remain the same but a major portion of the supply is off line. I did however see a report that said oil companies are reluctant to raise prices much more because they dont want to be seen as evil by the general population (too late!).

It just seems crazy to me. Are our supply chains stretched that thin? It just seems that the mere threat of a hurricane in the gulf jucks the prices up 10-50 cents a gallon. I know this is a big hurricane, and I'm not downplaying it, butI would think that oil companies would have a contingency plan in place for these situations. It's not a matter of if a big storm hits, but when.

$4.20 here in GA for 93. nothing like screwing your own people to put some extra cash in your already overflowing pocket. as corny as this sounds its about time for a revolution.

Got a report from my friend at FSU at Tallahassee that gas was at $5.75....YES, 5.75 per gallon for regular. He said it was 3.40 on Monday morning and jumped on Friday afternoon. Also said 4 gas stations shut down cause they ran out of gas.
