brobradh77 Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) I saw a discussion about this on another forum with this link and was curious if we could do something similar with good results in eliminating heat soak? http://kb.ls1gto.com/KB/article.aspx?id=10279 Edited September 15, 2008 by brobradh77 (see edit history) Quote
12'SROCK Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 i would relocate it closer to the TB if anything to be the most accurate because moving it away will give you false IAT readings, during my logs my IAT are fine. Quote
kelleyperformance Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 brad, the stock trucks its not a bad idea as long as its just moved closer to the TB. but all that will do is read hotter air, as its going to rise slightly in the tube on the way to the TB. but, with the maggie- its right inside the manifold, in a very accurate place. its already been reloacted out of the MAF. by moving it, all youd be doing (stock or blown) is tricking the engine into thinking its getting colder air, leading to... well.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. the TBSS guys love to do it, done three motors cause of it. so, i dont really recomend it IMO Quote
brobradh77 Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 Thanks guys...good info and yeah i've heard the TBSS guys do it alot. Quote
kelleyperformance Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 ya, basically i dont believe in it because... people say it fixes "heat soak", well- if your heat soaking your intake air, its um, HEAT SOAKED lol by moving the sensor all your doing is adding timing to a heat soaked motor, your not cooling the air or eliminating the heat soak. this is why alot of guys blow up their motors. but its not usually the ones who move the IAT up into the top of the intake tube, but the ones who move it into free air by the filter... bad move Quote
