What Would Be Louder

I just have a little exhaust question. Right now I have a magnaflow dual in, dual out 2.5", 5x11, 22" long muffler and I want to know if going with two mufflers would be louder? Im thinking about two magna flow 2.5", 4x9, that are 14" long.Would this be louder?

I don't think it would be louder, you are going from 1 22" case to two 14" cases........maybe if you went with a single 18" case it would be louder........

If you want loud, just get the smallest mufflers you can find.

yes it would hes going from a baffels case to straight flow threw if he went my rought i basically have resennators on straight pipes

i JUST did that same thing, went from the tru-x dual in/out 22" muffler to dual 14" mufflers, but added two 18" straight thru round resonators. really quiet, much quieter than the dual muffler. so you have a few options-

 

flowmasters are always loud, but not straight thru- IMO not a fan

magnaflow round mufflers are LOUD, they are like glassblacks basically. they sound very aggressive.

perosnally i woud do i shorter dual magnaflow setup, with an x pipe in there. you will be very happy with the tone. i love the sound of magnaflow, very deep and not too aggressive at the same time

I already have dual resonators on the exhaust what two mufflers would u suggest going with? what sizes?

ok what type/size resonators? and do you still have cats, stock exhaust manifolds, etc?? that will make a HUGE difference, as i run LTs with no cats. id say in your case, go with dual 14" body magnaflows and delete the resonators, that should be pretty aggressive but not overkill.

 

now if you dont have cats, might wanna consider a larger muffler and/or resonators if youd like to carry conversations on inside the truck, which wsa not doable with the dual 22" in my case

Stock manifolds, I really dont know what size resenators, they came with the magnaflow kit.

I'm putting on shorty headers soon though(i know very little performance gains but i live in an emission county).yes i still have cats.
