gatonmy3 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 having problems with my gauge Sss cluster, just bought another from a wrecker with 43k on it. wondering if that 43k will show up when i plug it in or will my original mileage show up on the new cluster. any info would be great. thanks Quote
shockx5 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 The 43k will show up. The mileage is programmed onto the cluster itself. I'd take it to a dealership and let them hook up the tech2 to it to change it to your truck's mileage. Quote
black00chev Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Just like Shock said, gotta take it to the dealer and have them reprogram the new cluster. Quote
kelleyperformance Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 im pretty sure the PCM holds the milage, as i swaped a cluster one time just to see the results. my milage didnt change. just try it out, what do you have to lose? if its off, go to teh dealer Quote
Bad Bowtie Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 The odometer reading is not stored in the PCM. It will have to be programmed. Quote
