Question About 2006 Sss Grill

Did the 06 SSS have an optional (or standard) Chrome grill surround with a chrome mesh? Never noticed before, but the Silver Birch 06 that I'm picking up on Wednesday has the chrome grill instead of painted. It is a low mileage 100% stock truck with low miles and no record of damage. It has no indication of ever being repaired. It is a factory grill, not an aftermarket misfit. What do ya'll think?

All SSSs had a body colored grilll shell, the chrome grills were standard on most Chevy pickups except the SSS. You may want to look closely for hidden accident damage.......

Ask the dealer to re-place it whit a painted grille, no SSS came whit the chrome one.

Damn, I'm gonna have to give it another once over. I checked for overspray, allignment issues and signs of bolts being removed/adjusted and nothing jumped out. Carfax was spotless. I'm hoping the previous owner just liked the chrome and had it installed. I will say, I usually hate chrome, but it looks good on the silver birch to tell you the truth. Only the whole chrome mesh in the grill and the black mesh in the bumper bothers me. I may just black out the mesh in the grill and see how it looks.

Spoke with the previous owner, apparenlty they hated the way the painted grill looked and ordered the chrome grill when they took delivery. At least it is not due to an accident, and it is a GM part. I'll decide what I'm gonna do with it later.
