SRT10KLLR Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 My cousin bought this truck and transformed it into a RC SS. He took off the roll cage and put in a new leather interior with sound system full SS body cladding and some other stuff. Here is a video my brother took of it running down south. http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f165/SRT...80222001916.flv Quote
usabodyguard Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 when you say down south you really mean down south... Quote
zippy Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Pretty cool. Aren't you doing a 408 soon also? Quote
SRT10KLLR Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 when you say down south you really mean down south...Yup, south as in near Mazatlan, Mex. He tries not to run to fast so he has a little left for the money races, lol. Pretty cool. Aren't you doing a 408 soon also?Yes, already installed it but was disappointed by the low numbers on the dyno. I am switching to AFR heads to increase cr from 8:1 to 9:1 to see if I can pick up a little more hp before the turbo install. Quote
mwalls54 Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I am glad he is taking care of it and it stil runs good. got any pictures of how it looks now? Quote

I dont think there was anything different than a regular truck though. Quote

I believe they were sold in Mexico and the Bahamas and maybe a few other countries. They are basically a "Sport" package with a 5.3L step side bed. Mine now has a 6.0L block bored/stroked to 6.7L(408ci). If you want to transform your truck you can buy the "400 SS" stickers at your local Chevy dealer, lol. The 400SS stickers are GM part #15788027. The video of the truck I posted is a RCSB Silverado with a turbocharged 408ci(6.0L block) with SS body cladding. BTW, what makes the SS different then the VHO? Quote

oscareltemblo Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Is he really your cousin do you know Sergio? Quote
12'SROCK Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 now you have some competition with your bro Quote
Rausche Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 BTW, what makes the SS different then the VHO? Basically VHO's had selectable 4WD, whereas the SS was only AWD or 2WD. Somebody on this forum has the best quote for it in their signature: "It's an SS from the waist up, and a Z71 from the waist down" Quote
SRT10KLLR Posted October 3, 2008 Author Report Posted October 3, 2008 Is he really your cousin do you know Sergio? Are your referring to Sergio Avendano. Ask him if he know who "El Colas" is, lol. Quote
