brobradh77 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 well I finally hooked up my laptop to see what codes my truck really is throwing...I kept getting P2101 and P2104 but whn I turn P2101 off it still shows up..so i hooked up the laptop and these are what I found. I know the B2600 is my daytime running lights because i pulled the fuse and the U1000 is something else..but the P3001 and 3004 I cant find anything excpet stuff for if my truck was a hybrid..lol any ideas? Fireman31 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 I am stumped too Brad, AllData doesn't show anything for P3001 & P3004......but here is what I found for U1000......... DTC U1000 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message for State of Health monitoring. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. When a module does not associate an identification number with at least one critical parameter within 5 seconds of beginning serial data communication, DTC U1000 is set. When more than one critical parameter does not have an identification number associated with it, the DTC will only be reported once. The class 2 serial data line on this vehicle is a star configuration. The following modules communicate on the class 2 serial data line: The audio amplifier (AMP), w/UQ7 and Y91 The body control module (BCM) The communication interface module (OnStar®), w/UE1 The digital radio receiver (DRR), w/U2K The driver door module (DDM) The electronic brake control module (EBCM) The generator battery control module (GBCM) The HVAC control module The hybrid control module (HCM), w/HP2 The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) The instrument panel cluster (IPC) The memory seat module (MSM), w/AN3 The passenger door module (PDM) The powertrain/engine control module (PCM/ECM) The radio The rear seat audio (RSA) controller, w/UK6 The rear seat entertainment (RSE) assembly w/U42 The rear wheel steering control module (RWSCM), w/NYS The remote playback device - CD player (CDX), w/U1S The transfer case shift control module (TCSCM), w/NP1/NP8 The transmission control module (TCM), w/M74 DTC DESCRIPTOR This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC: DTC U1000 Class 2 Data Link Malfunction CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC Voltage supplied to the module is in the normal operating voltage range of 9-16 volts . DTCs U1300, U1301 or U1305 do not have a current status. The vehicle power mode requires serial data communication to occur. CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC A node alive message has not been received from an unidentified module within the last 5 seconds after establishing class 2 serial data communication. ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS The module uses a default value for the missing parameter. CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC A current DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present. A history DTC clears when the module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold, without a repeat of the malfunction. DIAGNOSTIC AIDS When a malfunction occurs while modules are communicating, a lost communication DTC is set as a current DTC. When the modules stop communicating the current lost communication DTC is cleared but the history DTC remains. When the modules begin to communicate again, the module with the open fuse will not be learned by the other modules so U1000 is set current by the other modules. If the malfunction occurs when the modules are not communicating, only U1000 is set. Quote
benjaminh2 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 U1000 is a genaric communication code. what modules have that code stored? Quote
benjaminh2 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 theres a PI on the p2101 to check the connector the the throttle body/tac module for poor crimps and broken wires inside the insulation. as for the 3001,3004, those dtc's are unsupported on a 2wd 06 pickup, could be a software/programing issue. Fireman31 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 theres a PI on the p2101 to check the connector the the throttle body/tac module for poor crimps and broken wires inside the insulation. As far as I know, Brad has been there and done that already....we did some research on the P2101 code a while back........... Quote
benjaminh2 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 if the 2101 keeps resetting then the prob should be fairly easy to locate. this code sets when the actual throttle angle doesnt match the desired/commanded angle. can you watch these peramiters on your laptop? Quote
brobradh77 Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 P2101 and P2104 show up on the aeroforce gauge..Buuuut whn I hooked EFI Live up to it to see if those were indeed the codes being thrown and I saw all the codes listed excpet for P2101 and P2104..so I'm guess aerofrce is subst. those codes for P3001 and 3004? Thanks for all the help..I Quote
benjaminh2 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 according to gm's diag, your truck cant set those 3000 codes. sounds like the software you're using may not be reading correctly. know anyone with a tech2? Quote
brobradh77 Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 Ross at EFI Live thinks my software needss to be updated and that it may actually be throwing P2A01 and P2A04 P2A04 HO2S Performance Bank 2 Sensor 2 ECM DTC P2A01 or P2A04 for he 6.0L engine Wich makes sense becuase this all started after my blower install at that time we removed my cats and and turned my rear o2's to not report..I wonder if a parameter got missed so when i get home i'll check it out. benjaminh2 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 thats a good posibility. keep me posted. Quote
brobradh77 Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Posted September 30, 2008 we will see if thats it..I turned them to not report and no mil...it makes sense because every other sensor 2 has been changed to not report. Quote
brobradh77 Posted October 1, 2008 Author Report Posted October 1, 2008 Good news...its the first time I have ever drove to work and back home again with out it setting that DTC...usually it goes off going and again coming back....maybe its cured Quote
