I have never been at a Benihana's, but do you have Saporo's in So Cal? I have been to the one in Scottsdale AZ, a number of times and it is top notch.

Damn, we think a like. Too bad I live in ND and the only time I get good Japenese is when I visit my sister in Scottsdale. Thank god I go there atleast three times a year.

only saporo i know is the beer . we do have this place called gyu kaku

http://www.gyu-kaku.com/

its also off the chain , it has a grill on your table and they bring you out the meat you want raw and you cook it to your liking, which is rare to medium rare for me , the harami beef is so good . its also nice because there is a few plans i usually go for the 30 dollar all you can eat, comes with vege's and garlic fried rice and side of other delicious things.
