Please Help - Pass Side Cat Is Bad - 5.3l

Recommended Posts

where should I go to buy some that are reasonable.

all I have found are around $400 for the both and the y pipe.

should I try to find a performance set or stock replacement?

should I try to buy a universal and get it welded in?

I'm strapped for cash, my boy is being born any day in the next few weeks, and my wife is not working.

any ideas?

option 1 replace with factory set up------bookoo dollars

option two remove said y-pipe and remove what's causing the clog-------labor only, clear rear 02 sensors.

option three remove bad cats and replace with china knock of version from ebay-------@ 39.0 ea plus welding exspenses

option four replace with dynatech or stainless works set-up------worth every penny but costly

good luck

thanks for the info.

I don't think simply removing the clog is an option.

this thing is rattling like aluminum cans

I checked the dynatech... way out of my price range for the next 5 years.

but great idea, thanks

NO GO, on the exhaust shop.

two different places said they couldn't get uni's into that location.

no one around here sells used cats.

I just ordered the whole y pipe with both cats for $320. shipped

it's the Eastern company's setup.

advertised to be high flow.

I doubt it much mor ethan stock. we'll see if I get any gains.

thanks again guys
