ArcticFarmer
My first post... I'm just getting ready to pull a 6.0L out of a 2004 SSS and replace with another one. I haven't been able to find a swap procedure/tutorial and thought that someone might be able to help, or direct me to a post or site. Pictures are always a really good thing! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
js_silveradoSS
They are not too bad. I pulled mine out over a weekend. If u put an aluminam block back in and u swap the motor mounts, DO NOT use the bolts that are in the iron block 6.0. Too short and u will pull the threads out of the block. I recomend a load leveler on the engine hoist. Makes it simple. When u get it over the front diff u need to turn the engine 90 degrees and then bring it up all the way. That is so u can get the harmonic bal out past the radiator support. Good luck!
Krambo
Good tips. I see you are using the JBA engine plate for removal. With the hook on the first location (hole) you should be able to pull it strait up and out (with or without the tranny attached) without the need for a leveler. Good luck!
