heres the scoop. i might have found a 2007 lq9 for 300 bux. im currently running a heads/cam/bolt on LS1 in my truck. if i do this i want to step it up. more cubes, more compression and more cam.

i want to put my patriot 243's on this motor but im not sure if there will be any P2V clearance issues. im thinking the cam will be in the 234/236 112+4 area in the size range but i cannot find a compression calculator for the lq9 anywhere to figure out the specs so i can know where to mill the heads to, or what size head gasket i will need.

any time you have a wild cam and compression altering gaskets or milled heads I would DO a PTV check. My buddy busted some parts not checking and his set up was pretty mild. rereading your post...Gen III pistons stick out of the hole and beside the dia change from 5.3 to 6.0 the math is the same...so if you were runniing this different block changing to a 6.0l would not change anything but size. and need more fuel. but with a different cam again I would check the PTV

I am guessing the 243 is a smaller chamber than the 317.

what you have now is a baby LS2 and swapping over you will have a Iron LS2 :)

i am currently running a 5.7 LS1 with a 226/226 cam. i figure the LS1 and 6.0 have different deck heights. i really need a calculator for a lq9 to show me the SCR and DCR of different possible combos. my ls6 heads are 64cc unmilled.

I would still check PTV. I know they will bolt up but things change when the lifters are pumped up and better safe than sorry.
