1 Fast SS Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 How many of you guys with the CAI's have a wrap on your filter? I did a test on mine and would like to share it with you. I started off by driving my truck for 3 months without a filter wrap, and here's a pic of it. Then, I drove my truck with a filter wrap for another 3 months, but checking it once a month. I finally cleaned it after 6 months, but really didn't need to. All I had to do was clean the wrap with soap and water, and let it air dry. The wrap kept my filter clean for over 6 months. I couldn't believe it myself. Here's a pic. The sales rep. at Stylin told me about the wrap, because I was complaining to him about how much the recharge kits cost these days. So he told me to invest in a filter wrap, and that the wrap would be well worth the $$. I was skeptical at first, but after trying one, now I believe it myself. Some people say that it doesn't let your filter breath to the proper CFM, but my track times stayed the same. So I would recommend this to all of you guys-n-girls. You can them just about anywhere and they are well worth the cash if you ask me. http://www.stylintrucks.com/sn.aspx?free_text=filter+wraps Terry Quote
ssspringer Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Thanks for the info. I just installed a CAI and Wheatley tune and considering a wrap myself!! Quote
Fireman31 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 I am running a K&N Drycharger/Precharger on mine. It keeps the filter cleaner for much longer by blocking larger particles from clogging it up. Not to mention, it also repels water. Quote
chpspecial Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 my truck sucked in the airfilter and caved it in thanks to the wrap, if your making power beware... having a crushed filter sucks, Quote
kelleyperformance Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 my truck sucked in the airfilter and caved it in thanks to the wrap, if your making power beware... having a crushed filter sucks, took the words right out of my mouth lol.... they do work VERY well at repelling water tho, like for fender intakes and such (mainly on cars) Quote
1 Fast SS Posted December 15, 2008 Author Report Posted December 15, 2008 Maybe its not for guys with blowers because your trying to get more air, but with the N/A motors, I think it works very well. Quote
