I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado and it is a standard silverado and I have it in the shop trying to get the SS front end on it and ther're not sure what all I need to complete the conversion. Does anyone know if I can use my factory crome bumber to put the OEM SS cover over it? Also, what else will I be needing?

My truck is kind of a Green/Teal color. But I was told that my chrome metal bumper would not work in order to put the OEM SS front cover on; the dealership said that I needed the GMC chrome bumper in order to make the conversion work

nah, the silverado bumper should work, just have to remove the lower plastic part, not sure on the top plastic, and if you're not using the mounting brackets you will have to do some riggen . Is it a real oem SS cover? or one of the fiberglass jobs off ebay? I used one of the fiberglass ones on my 99 silverado & basicly glued it over the stock bumper,,minus the lower plastic.

Yeah I ordered it from GM. Basically because I looked at all the different aftermarket ones you could get and they all said that they used double sided tape and I didn't like the idea of that. So the OEM SS front bumper cover should mount on over my '04 silverado stock chrome bumper? And I understand that I may need some brackets to hold it in place and keep it from flopping around, correct?
