zanis520 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 from leftlanenews.com General Motors may be struggle just to keep the lights on these days, but that doesn’t mean the Detroit automaker has completely given up on making its cars fun. The Pontiac Solstice GXP, Saturn Sky Redline and Chevrolet HHR SS already peak the fun meter, but a new GM Performance kit promises to raise the fun quotient even further for all three cars. Dubbed the LNF Turbo Upgrade, the performance kit bolts to the three aforementioned cars equipped with GM’s fantastic 260 horsepower, 260 lb-ft or torque 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Those figures are pretty impressive from the factory, but apparently aren’t even close to what the engine is capable of kicking out. The kit uses new engine calibrations and a revised MAP sensor to boost power to 290 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque, when equipped to a six-speed car. If you went with an automatic from the factory, your torque figures will range from 325 lb-ft for a Solstice/Sky to 315 for the HHR. The kit also raises the factory rev limiter by 200 to 6,500 rpm. Although the kit is not currently available on the Chevy Cobalt SS – GM says its kit should arrive in Q1 of 2009 – the new LNF kit gives the 2.0L-equipped cars a feature currently only found on the Cobalt SS – no-lift shifting. Another cool feature about the LNF upgrade is that allows the car’s ECU to ‘learn’. The onboard computer can basically detect if there are any other bolt-on modifications – such as a new intake or exhaust – and it can tune the kit further to squeeze out even more power. The LNF Turbo Upgrade is available from GM dealers for just $650, and the best part is that it won’t void your factory warranty. Quote
diggerdan11 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 sounds cool to me. I dont care what you guys say the HHR SS is a blast to drive and it will be even more fun with that package Quote
Black2003SS Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Thats not a bad deal at all. One can spend alot more money than $650 to gain 30hp...AND keep your factory warranty also. Quote
