KaOs5582 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Hey CREW SS just wanted 2 know, how much difference is the 305 tire 2 a 275? I've been thinking about putting 305 in the rear on da stock VHO rims, basically for looks and traction issues. Thanx again CREW SS, any input will be very helpful need rear tires soon Quote
mcmahan Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 they would work. ive got 285/45/22 i like them they hook up good, but the 305 is much wider so its your call bro. Quote
misterp Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 You're limited by stock rim width, the widest you can go and still fit a tire on there is 295; with wider aftermarket rims on the rear you can go wider to a 305. The difference between a 275 and a 305 is a lot, like almost 1-1/2" wider tread On a 2WD truck you need all the help you can get, you might consider tread composition as well and get a gummier tire, like a set of BGF KDWs or Nittos, but that is not cheap. silverado05ss Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) I've got the NITTO 420S 305/50ZR20-120H on my stock wheels and it is doing great...no complaints here so far. It feels like they hug the road better, better for take offs...The choice is yours but, please make the right one....good luck.. Edited December 21, 2008 by silverado05ss (see edit history) Quote

Got any close ups of the tires that show the "bulge" on the stock wheels. I've been tossing around the idea of those for a while. Quote
diggerdan11 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I have 305 50 ZR20s on my tuck and i love them Its the perfect amount of width and i also think it helps hug the road better. The difference between the diameter of those and the stock size 275 55 20s is hardly measurable and it will only throw your speedometer of by 0.3% so if your speedometer says 100mph your actually going 103 mph thats right i can do math Quote
