Fast06 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I just had the Comp Cams 222º/224º .566"/.568" 112LSA installed last week. I'm having some surging problems during idling. I'm also having problems with the rpms not dropping smoothly; it is fine until I come close to a stop were it sits at 1000rpms then suddenly drops to about 680 when my truck is fully stopped. I'm currently have hp tuners being used on it; any ideas to make it run a little smoother. Quote
zippy Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Post up a copy of your file. That should be an easy fix. Quote
Krambo Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 That cam should be a snap to dial in. I would bet that once you have the base running airflow where it should be, everything else will fall in line. Then the rest will be just minor tweaks. Try this little write-up I did ----> Idle Tuning using HPTuners link Download the base running airflow configuration (linked in the write-up) and use it following the write-up. If you get a chance, post up your tune. Quote
Fast06 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 I'll try to get a copy of the tune from CARTER, and post it. Quote
CNE Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I have to keep my throttle body cleaned frequently of mine will stall at idle especially during parking when turning the wheel or something. You might want to make sure the throttle plate is clean. Quote

You might want to make sure the throttle plate is clean. I have had mine stall when I'm parking or switching from reverse to drive. How are you cleaning your throttle plate? I just received the scan cable from .justin. to retune; so it will run better. Quote
Jaymz Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Hows this cam treating you ? good hp gain ? Quote
Fast06 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Hows this cam treating you ? good hp gain ? I been having some minor issues, that should be fixed when I get my retuned pcm from Justin this week. The horsepower gain is really noticable; not a dog from a 40 punch anymore. It pulls really good to 6400rpms where I have the WOT shift set. Quote
