cadillacbob
I installed an engine block heater on my SS during the summer.... It was a total pain in the ass to install.. BUT AWESOME when it is cold out! I plug my truck in at night in my garage when it gets below 30... I have heat within 5 minutes of mormal driving... my gauge shows 160 within 3 minutes...and my truck picked up some MPG's probably due to it not having to run cold for so long... It has also made a difference on cold start ups-less wear and tear... I would give it 2 thumbs up... The part was $65 at the dealer...you need a 17mm hex 'allen' wrench to take the freeze plug out...and you need to drain your antifreeze of course... I put the plug in my brake vent on my front fascia (bumper cover)...
